I have never photographed in such a magical place before. And having a guided tour by the owners while we shot was really the cherry on top. From the dressing rooms, to the stables this place was enchanting, and we had it ALL to ourselves. We all loved taking in the surrounds while capturing breathtaking images of Miss A for a belated Quince session. The weather, location and that gorgeous gown added up to a pretty much perfect day for all of us. I enjoyed laughing and getting to know Miss A, who was shy but so so smart, and wonderful to be around. She continued to be radiant, while I litterly melted in the Florida sun, a true beauty she was. We ended our day with a yummy spread of desserts and sandwiches in the kitchen on the property, and all reminisced on what a sublime day we all had. I left tired, and stinky..but so full of happiness and excitement to get their viewing gallery up as soon as possible.
After delivering the finished images and her GORGEOUS metal print, I received the most special surprise from Miss A, a beautiful handwritten card thanking me for her photos along with letting me know what a great time she had. The unexpected thoughtfulness of this young lady brought tears to my eyes as I read her letter over and over again.
That card will always hold such a special place in my heart and a permanent spot my desk!

I’ve loved watching Miss G grow as a dancer over the last few years. Her Mom is the director and owner at a fabulous dance studio, Astrid Audet Academy of Ballet in Fort Lauderdale, which Ive had the pleasure of working with for awhile. Not only do they have incredible talent there, but they also have a beautiful environment of family and support. So spending a afternoon with them both was really a dream. We used all Capezio leos and tutus and explored all over the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Miss G was amazing to work with, powering through our session with beauty and grace! We shot at the Gardens till we were nicely escorted out, but continued to shoot locally till the sun went down. Her energy, and pursuit of perfection is inspiring, and I was happy to spend such a wonderful day with her and her Mom!

I knew the minute we discussed setting up this shoot, it was going to be emotional. A fun beach shoot for two best friends before one moved away. A situation I could relate to, since I did a similar one years ago with my daughter and our best friends. At the same time it made me so beyond happy to know that we were doing this, that they would have these photos to cherish and look back on for many years to come. Their laugh was infectious, their friendship, immeasurable, and these memories…priceless.

There is something really magical that happens in the hallways of a dance studio. Not only do you hear talk of technique, or an upcoming class, but there is this wonderful feeling of friendship and sisterhood of girls that share the same passion and commitment for what they love. They do homework together, eat together, laugh and I’m sure cry together too. So while I love to have one on one sessions with my dancers, having a session that expressed the sisterhood I get to witness at the studios I work with was a great experience. The common thread of dance that holds them all together. The support and love they have for one another and the bond that has grown over the years, along with their technique. I loved this group of girls, all of whom I had photographed before individually. But it was different having them all together, joy, laughter, the essence of youth and all the wonderful experiences for them to come, and share…together.
One of my images was also shared by the amazing Pointe Magazine publication, with the #squadgoals. I say we nailed it girls!

She spent her birthday with me! How great was that? We had such a great time hanging at The Achemist, finding all sorts of unique little spots for us to photograph. Every single image reflects Miss A’s personality and individuality! She is so creative, fun, easy going and an amazing dancer. I couldn’t be more honored she wanted to spend her special day with me.

Her mom went above and beyond finding the perfect outfits for Miss A to wear at our beach session, so I was excited before we even started! She was fabulous to work with, and I had so much fun hanging out with her and her mom, laughing a lot and having a great time! We both did work hard to get that perfect water shot, which was worth every ant bite and braved everything from heat and crowds to beach stickers and a not so light rain in the middle of our session. Which we all made it through while laughing the whole time. As all troopers, we continued on and ended up having an amazing time and created some gorgeous images to remember our afternoon together.

First thing I do when getting an inquiry of a session is schedule an introduction meeting, usually over a good cup of coffee. This way I can not only meet my clients, but get to know their personalities, what they are wanting for their custom session, and go over every detail from what they will be wearing to what will be our location options. This was not the case with Miss K and her Mom. I received an email asking for a senior session on the beach, and it had to be done the very next day. I admit I was nervous, not only for never meeting this client, but not being familiar with the hotel location either. However, the minute I saw Miss K, who was a complete stunner, and meeting her Mom, who was the most friendly wonderful women, I knew this session was going to be a blast. And it was! We had such a fun time just strolling around the hotel and making the most of several lil nooks and crannies around the property. We ended the session with a few shots on the beach as the sun went down, then actually took a moment to take it all in once we were done. I absolutely loved meeting these two fantastic women, I felt we were always meant to met and Im really enjoying watching Miss K kicking butt in tennis and accomplishing so much during her Senior year in Pennsylvania! Heres to last minute meetings and hoping our paths cross again some day!

Once I got the text of Miss S stunning red quinceanera gown I knew we needed to find that ‘perfect’ location. We finally decided on the historic Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale, with their rich art decor background and gorgeous house grounds. However, with pouring rain the night before we really had no idea what the condition of the location would be. We all kept our fingers crossed all day. We showed up to not only dry walkways, but a cool breeze and the most helpful group of volunteers there that made the day pretty much perfect, complete with a golf cart shuttle service. Sharing this experience with Miss S, her inspiring Mom, and wonderful Grandmother was so overall amazing for me. She was glowing that day, and just so fun to work with. She is a incredible young lady, and you just can’t help but smile and laugh when your with her, a pretty perfect day I won’t soon forget!

The minute I met Miss A, her mom, and little sis at Starbucks, I instantly felt like family. Which made coming up with locations and the look for her session so much fun and exciting. I admit, she was my first “cupcake” pre session, and being able to capture her in the dream quinceanera ball gown was really amazing. It took a small village of family and close friends who came along to the shoot to help which made the day really really special. And the day was no joke, hours of location changes, clothes changes and Miss A up for pretty much any idea I had for her. Her quinceanera party was equally fun and full of family and friends, I had such a great night with them all. I look forward to keeping in touch with this really amazing family, and watching Miss A continue to blossom into an incredible young women.

I love Miss A and her incredible family. So when I met with her Mom to book her First Communion session I was beyond excited to know she had a very special attachment to Vizcaya, and therefore wanted her photos to be taken there.
Everything was perfect that day, particularly, Miss A who was a vision. Her dress had been bought by her Grandmother, and she wore her Mother’s veil. Ill admit it was a little busy on the grounds that day, but we made sure to find little secret areas of wonderfulness to get some beautiful intimate shots of Miss A on her important day. I love how her session went. I loved spending an afternoon with her Mom, and Dad, who came also to help.
I don’t take capturing moments like this lightly…I always have butterflies on the way to my shoots, hoping our session will be everything my client has in mind…and more, but after the day is done, and I come home to view the entire session, I am so happy to know my clients, their children, their families will have their portraits to admire and pass down for generations to come.
I know Miss A’s parents will always look at these images and remember our unforgettable day at an unforgettable location, with their unbelievable dream of a daughter. And that, makes me very happy!
